Yet we are near a vaccine, have developed several treatments, recovered from the dearth of PPE left by the prior regime and generated an oversupply of ventilators ... in spite of the prior regime being bought off to jack up the price ... but, other than that, nothing has been done.

For starters, the Biden plan would include the following. Listen to the experts; don't insult them. Use the bully pulpit to urge the public to wear masks and don't equivocate when discussing masks; don't mock people who wear them. Practice social distancing and urge others to do the same. Don't politicize the pandemic--it does not care if a State is blue or red. Try to unite the country to fight the pandemic the same way you would try to unite the country if you are fighting a war: more than 4 times as many Americans have died from the pandemic as died in Vietnam, and the death toll continues to rise. Provide financial support to States based upon the financial harm the pandemic has done to them, not based on whether they are blue or red. Don't politicize the CDC. Don't suggest treatments that are scientifically unproven at best, and harmful at worst. Show empathy for those who have died from the disease, and those who have been seriously ill from it. And, of course, provide financial support for cures and vaccines. Use the powers available to the President to get masks, ventilators, etc. made (why is there still a shortage of N-95 masks?). When our borders need to be closed to those coming from other countries, don't included loopholes in the closure order. Decisions on whether to make such closure should be based on science, and not on politics. And above all, don't lie to the American public. We aren't stupid and deserve the truth.
