AD 1901 - Sixty three year old schoolteacher Annie Edson Taylor is the first person to go over Niagara Falls in a barrel and survive.

AD 1861 - The seven western counties of the state of Virginia secede from the state of Virginia, to form the new state of West Virginia, in protest of the state of Virginia seceding from the United States.

These posts prove that something happened somewhere every day of the Year. Might some enterprising sole seek out a day when nothing happened. No wonder so many are uptight, never a day of total peace.

I have been told that said year was AD 1956, although I am relying on state records and eyewitness accounts as I have no direct recollection of the event.
