Just to let all you Hoggers know, the newest version of Photoshop will not run on a Mac running an OS older than 10.14 Mohave. My MacBook Pro Mid 2009 and Mac Pro tower mid 2010 will not even download it. These cannot be upgraded to 10.14 due to age. They run perfectly fine with no issues on the last version of photoshop. Apple cuts off OS support after 10 years. Thanks Apple.

I understand Gene!! Please don’t rub it in! I guess I’m gonna have to dig out my old windows 10 based laptop. I wondered if I load windows 10 on my Mac could I then download PS win version and run it in windows while it’s running on top of my Mac OS

My 10 yr old cMP 5,1 running Windows 10 runs it just fine . . . also.
ANYway, check the Net for Dosdude1 and installations of "unsupported" Macs.
My 3,1 and my 5,1 both run HiSierra, but he has a Mojave procedure I'ma try out soon.

Thanks I’ll check it out. I know from research I can run Mohave on my Mid 2010 Mac Pro if I buy and install a new video card for $300 that supports metal

I'm on windows 10 and all my errors to date a have user. A side question, how many bloody OS's do they have for the mac? It seems to me that you are asking Adobe to have to test on every flavor of OS. That is very expensive and error prone. I know there are benefits to the Mac OS, but the Heintz 57 variety seems self defeating for application in general.

kcooke Thanks for the information I have just updated and you are correct the old photoshop 2020 does not work. I checked on the Adobe icon in the status bar there is a new version photoshop2021, click on it and Photoshop 2021 opens. Hope this helps.

For you guys running old macs check out a web site from a guy named dosdude1 he has written a utility that allows old macs to successfully run the newest versions of Mac OS on old hardware has worked for me I’m running 10 year old MacBook Pro on Mohave and Catalina with very good success the one thing is to be aware you can’t run auto update

I have been researching video card options for a 2010 Mac Pro Desktop that supports metal. They are hard to find one that is seamless. Have you found one? Thank you.

Right up to time where some new application that you want to use, can't be used because you are still pre indoor plumbing. Sorry but being stagnant with OS or applications is an opportunity for crisis.

Sorry, but it's not necessarily being stagnant. Some of us cannot afford to buy a new $1700 imac just to run the latest OS to run the latest photoshop. I'm not whining or complaining just stating a fact.

This is not directed to any one person, but to all of us. I have been using my iMac mid-2011 for 9 years now. I’m frozen at OS 10.12. LR (CC) & PS (whatever) do not upgrade to the most recent versions. These “terrible processing conditions” are ok with me. I’m one of the majority of photographers that don’t need the latest and greatest software upgrades to do the routine tasks which are usually cropping, highlight/shadow adjustments, WB tweaking, and Topazing. I can even do fine portrait enhancement with these archaic tools. Bottom line is that I am happy with my computer system and if it cannot be repaired then I’ll upgrade at that time

I will however fly out the store to buy the latest Nikon Z camera and Z lenses- lol

When you look at modern photography, electronics , software updates, etc. I wonder if you carefully select your photos & have them processed or do it yourself of only the really good ones, would it be more cost effective?
