Duplicate photos on IPhoto and on Lightroom Catalogue

I have many duplicates on my IPhoto and Lightroom folders. Can someone suggest an effective app or process for removing duplicates? I see several apps in the App Store, but I have not found one that works. I must have close to 14,000 photos, of which, at least 1500 are duplicates. Thanks for your suggestions.

I use VisiPics. Free and does a very good job of sorting out duplicates.

I looked for a Mac version but couldn't find one. Do you know if there is something similar for Mac?
