I use closed captions when available on TV. Most of it is automatically generated, and a comedian could do endless routines with some of the word choices. One I have noticed more and more is "Applause." This is automatically generated for wind, rain, or any type of steady background noise. If you haven't watched a movie with auto-generated CC, it worth a look - and a laugh.
Speaking of movies, I began watching one the other day, and it was being shown backwards. It started at the end, and it was working toward the beginning. What tipped me off was the audio. All the dialog was backwards-talk. It was also reversed so that all the writing was a mirror image.

Jerry, apparently you have a lot of unoccupied time on your hands. You should find a hobby or two. Have you also read a novel "backwards"?
Is the laugh track to make sure you know when something is funny?

I have as much free time as I want. If I don't feel like doing chores, I turn on the TV, play with the computer, or take a nap.

No, it's to make you think you're not sitting alone in a room staring a a box with a lit-up screen.

It doesn't work because I'm sitting in a room, staring at a box with a lit-up screen.
I'd be more concerned if I heard the laugh track with the box turned off.
If you want bad inserted sound, just watch an NFL game with no fans but lots of crowd noise. Who are the broadcasters trying to fool?

You mean the backwards movie? I noticed right away because the conversations were gibberish - backwards. As I FF through the movie, the sound stayed bad, but some of the actors were less beaten up. They started the movie looking pretty good, but then they got into fights, etc.

That wasn't a serious question, Jerry. I was just busting you. You should know that my now. LOL
Jerry that's like watching a NFL football game with no fans. The fans noise is awesome, cheering and even boos you can hear. I find it annoying.
