ET4750 If you are planning on printing envelopes, forget it. This printer doesn't understand the language from Word that any other printer recognizes and automatically sets itself to print an envelope so you have to set it manually at the printer. You also have to remove any paper from the printer and set the guides to fit the envelope size you are using. Then good luck with manually programing it to go back to 8X10 or whatever else you may want. I had HP printers for years and never had the problems with them that I have with this one. The one plus is that you do save on money buying ink, but I don't find it to be user friendly in the least.

I have the Epson Eco Tank ET-2550, the original printer using tanks. I love it. The ink is inexpensive and my photos come out perfect. The first one that I bought had a problem. I was printing 250 photos for a family album and on photo 10, it went nuts and failed. After trying to clean out the head, I finally lost my patience and told the customer service person I wanted a new one. (I had only had mine for 2 weeks and had hardly used it) They sent me a new one overnight, with a postage paid return.) This one has worked perfectly since day one. I just purchase new ink because I couldn't remember where I put the bottles of ink that I received with the printer. I found them just as the new ones arrived. I now have enough ink for 6-8 years. I don't think most people would be disappointed with this type of printer. I'll never own a cartridge printer again.

Thank you for the replies. I wanted to hear from real users since many of the on-line reviews were by reviewer that were given a beta copy. The reviews leave the impression that it can be a challenge to set-up. I am leaning to the ET4760, but would like the ET15000 if we had the space it requires.

We are looking at new printers and the Epson EcoTank printers caught our eye. I did a search and only found 3 hits, only one recent. What has been your experience with them? My wife insists on scan, copy and FAX along with printing. We do little photo printing so their quality isn't of prime importance. I found 3 on Epson's web site, ET4700 for $279. ET4760 for $499.99, and ET15000 for $599.99. The ET15000 can handle paper up to 13"x19" so it might be used for some photos. Currently the largest I print is 8"x10" usually 4"x6".

I would appreciate comments from users of any of the EcoTank series. Thank you in advance.

I bought the Epson ET-7700. It started leaking ink on the paper after one year. Had it repaired under warranty and is working flawless ever since. If it stays that way I'll be happy.

Another option is one of the Canon Mega Tank printers. I've had one since they first came out almost 4 years ago and I'm happy with it. I print a LOT, but rarely do photos. I figure mine paid for itself in a little over a year due to the savings in the cost of ink (and I only use Canon ink).
