Bulk rename with EXIF date, time

I have a large number of photo files that I want to rename such as this:

TSC_3881.NEF to TSC_3881 2020 09-08 10-42-15.NEF

with the date and time from the EXIF data.

I have Advanced Renamer for Windows which claims to be able to do this, but none of the methods they suggest works. Is there any of the rename utilities that will do what I want?

Thanks for any help you can give me.

I have used Downloader Pro for many years. It will take parameters from the EXIF data to place into a filename. I generally ignore the camera name and give it a useful name so I can recognize the subject of the photo from the filename.

In addition to the date and time you can use the camera model, the serial number, the aperture, shutter speed, ISO, the shutter count (not sure about Canon), and, of course, a text string of your choosing. And if you really like the original camera file name you can use it.

I find it useful to use the date and time (to 0.01 seconds) in the file name because it helps me to arrange photos in chronological order even if I use more than 1 camera body (which happens frequently).

Lightroom importing can rename the files but I'm not sure just how many parameters you can use from the EXIF data for that.

Downloader Pro cost me $30 a long time ago and it was (for me) worth it.

I have been using "Exif Date Changer" for several years and I am very satisfied with it. He can process a complete file. The free version does not allow renaming of RAW files. To do this, use the inexpensive version.

Nikon ViewNX (free) will do that for you. The transfer function is very customizable.

Original Filename - date/time.NEF

Canon software renames files just about anyway you wish.. will probably work with anyones jpgs, in fact it will.... (Canon Digital Professional Photo) anyone with a digital canon camera can download it for you , you cannot beat the price and I dont think it is copywrited..... Ed

Over the years I've tried any number of renamers and still have several on my computers.

But THE ONE I always use is den4b's Renamer (I still use an older freeware version that does all I need). Easy to set up even complicated renames with its sequentially applied rules. It's one of my "on every computer" programs.
