Help Identify This Flying Insect

This flying insect looks kinda like a grasshopper in flight, but it doesn't when it is still. Wingspan is about 1.5" to 2" and length from head to tail is about the same.

Does anyone know what this is?

BTW, I am in eastern Pennsylvania, just outside of Philadelphia.

Thanks BassmanBruce. I think Striped Hawk Moth actually looks more like it than the Banded Sphinx Moth.

No expert here either, just a old kid who likes bugs.

It's a White Lined Sphinx Moth (Hyles lineata lineata). Here is one I shot while surveying dragonflies at Idylwild WMA in Federalsburg, Maryland last week. I hope you don't mind me dropping my shot in here.

Doc is correct, it's a White-lined Sphinx Moth - Hyles lineata. It looks very similar to the Banded Sphinx, which is bigger. and has four broad pale stripes.
Both pics are very good.
