Skylum have announced its new LuminarAI editing program. It claims that this is an entirely new program - not an upgrade to Luminar4. Due to be released by the Holiday season, it is being offered with a pre-order discount to the first 30,000 purchasers.

You can find info at the Skylum site at https://skylum.com/luminar-ai. Click on the FAQ below the order button for better information. It would appear that Skylum intends to only provide support for Luminar4 for a limited period.

Read here for a better description of the features of LuminarAI.

I tried a quick search first under LuminarAI (the way Skylum spells it) and nothing came up. I should have tried Luminar AI instead. Ah well - lesson learned.

If you have occasion to do a UHH search in future, use the advanced option of Google. You can plug in the website name and the results will be more comprehensive.

My comments were just meant to tease. Those of us who are here too many hours a day know how often "breaking news" is repeated, often via multiple topics on the same day.

Take care Phil.

Here is what Luminar says about support for L4:

"Will you continue to support Luminar 4?

We plan to ship compatibility and performance updates for Luminar 4 for another year after LuminarAI is released. We won’t charge anything for these updates.

Luminar 4 will continue to run for many years beyond that (as long as your computer meets Luminar 4’s system requirements)."

Cheers!

It's like buying a pig in a bag! Even the You tubers that are going to flog it off to us don't know anything about it. I did like some of the sliders in Luminar 4 a lot but now I'm saying goodbye to Skylum.

After issue after issue with Luminar 3 and 4 I don't think I want to be a beta tester for more of their programs. As with the R5 and R6 I decided to let the dust clear first and see what others find before jumping in with both feet.

Happy shooting
