I am at a similar stage as you. Have the money and am keen to buy. After a lot of research I decided not to by anything until I have a pretty good idea of what I want. The only thing that I have decided on so far is to buy a Cannon Lenz for my Cannon camera.
My advise is not to rush. Master what you have before moving on.
Unless of course you have a current need. In that case I would be asking more specific questions.
As I said I am new to this and know very little. I am just applying some common sense.

Hi,
I use the Nikon 14-24mm f2.8 G AF-S ED Lens. It is a little pricey at just over £1300 but.....it will last a lifetime and the results are just awsome.
On your camera it will come in at 21-36mm but my guess is you will move onto to a full frame camera in the not too distant future.
Take care and have fun!

Hey, no such thing as "common sense". If there were everyone would have it. "Individual sense" is more accurate......

I use the Sigma 10-20mm. A great, sharp, and fairly light lens.

jake that is an awesome pic!! I know it's def something that i need to invest in and its not a matter of waiting. For the images that I want its a necessity. Especially when I wasnt able to obtain a family pic 2 weeks ago, at my brothers beach wedding,at the angle i was hoping for :(

What type of lens did you use jake?

And thanks to others for feedback as well! :)

What lens were you using at the beach?
Can you post an example?
Hogs (including me) are great at spending other peoples money.
Just wish that your spend wisely, as well. Makes it easier for you purchase even, more stuff!
