Lake Apopka Early morning wildlife drive.

Never saw this before. About 30 gators together and about a hundred birds of various kinds. The gators were jumping at the birds as they flew over and very enthusiastically catching fish of all kinds. The birds were very active catching fish as well. It was like a block party in the swamp. I don't know why this was happening at this spot and at this time. On the second drive through two hours later all was back to normal. Down loads work OK but high ISO so there is some noise with magnification. Please enjoy.

Was that gator in your series doing "head slaps" on the water, or just keeping it's head out of the water? Either way, absolutely incredible timing on your part!

A Swamp Rave! Good shots, great luck coming across it. The key might be time, temperature, wind direction, something that figured out, might let you have another shot at it.

Thanks, Tony. A few of them were doing "head slaps". I didn't know that was a thing. But most of them were just catching fish and trying to catch birds flying over. They were pretty aggressive but keeping the social distancing thing going. I don't know what was going on but definitely a different vibe from the usual swamp thing.
