Nice shot!Bamboo is amazingly strong, I used to see them using it in Japan for scaffolding on high rise buildings.

I like how the young upstart is pushing past the old guard and grabbing the light...........
evocative on several levels, stirs memories of:
fishing with my Grandpa
affixed to my first butterfly net
memories of stories told by uncles:
avoiding pits where it was deployed as a deterrent to the invaders
dappled light playing tricks on adrenaline fueled imaginings
as blanket stretchers bearing the dead and wounded home
the feel of the bounce under foot exposing underground access
as poles holding up volleyball nets on the beach
