A Butterfly Caterpillar

I found this a few days ago on a Beetroot plant in the UK but cannot confirm ID. I think it maybe a Hamearis lucinda, Family Riodinidae aka a Duke of Bergundy butterfly caterpillar or perhaps a Buff Ermine Butterfly caterpillar. I don't believe either are found in America.

Thank you, the consensus of opinion is settling on one of the Ermine moth cats, perhaps a young one, it seems their colour is variable and also depends on age.
