Hi group,
Maybe I'm not asking Google right but I'd like a webcam with both auto & manual focus. I find many options for one or the other but not for both focus methods. Any suggestions? Take care & ...

Try Googling webcam with focus control

You may be able to use your camera depending on the brand. For example, Fuji recently released SW to allow use as a webcam.

What model is your webcam, Al?

You can rig one of your Nikons to be a webcam. You can use an app called Digicam which will convert the camera's signal to what the 'puter sees as a webcam, and then use a free software (OBS) to feed Zoom, or Skype or whatever. I got it all to work but it was a PITA. I've since ended up buying a Logitech c930 dedicated webcam, which is great and serves my needs...there *may* be manual focus with this one but I've not tried to find it.

Currently I don't have a webcam other than the builtin on my laptop. I've been looking at the Logitech C 920 or C930 but really want the option of manual in addition to autofocus. I think I've found a software solution but will have dig further into it before I know for sure. I'll let everyone know if I find a solution. Thanks for your suggestions. Take care & ...

The included or download Logitech software should offer auto or manual options?

Now it is easy. Download the app from Nikon for free and plug your camera into your computer with the usb cable. works great as long as you have the a/c adapter or a lot of batteries. I have both. LOL

Cool it works with zoom skype and most all other apps. Yoy can also run it through obs or whater it us and do anything you want. I use mine for work with my 12 24mm f4. It works great because they just see the side of my head and my monitor. No straight on facial crap. Lol. Good luck.

I have to run a class for the Arts Center here...so want to look my bestest! So, thanks for the heads-up, Bob!

You might find it difficult to buy the model of your choice. There is big demand, but not an increase in production. Prices are up, and a camera will be available for a short time before it sells out. Two weeks after I bought one, it was out of stock. I just got a basic one - no manual focus.

Olympus just came out with free software that allows several of the Oly cameras to act as webcams.

...had no problem getting the Logitech c930 from Amazon, Jerry. Like, two weeks ago? Delivery was a bit slow for Amazon...maybe a week?
