Hey guys been researching a replacement for Picasa. All I want is a simple photo editing , organizer . storage and sharing software. Only want to pay a one time price. So far leaning to Luminar 4. Anyone use it? Thanks for you input,

Order Photoshop elements 2020, on sale only $60, stay on the "quick" tab. You will be happy. Pick either PC online code, Mac online code, or CD disk.

For simple, if you use Windows and want free:
https://www.faststone.org/index.htm

I don't know that there is an organizer, but since it's free, check it out.

The benefit of PS Elements, recommended by bleirer, are those three main tabs: quick, guided, expert. You never have to go beyond "quick" but you are paying for a lot more power.

Photoshop Elements is my most used processor.

I used Photoshop for many years until I found out that most everything I was using is in Elements.

I'm using PSP pro2020 (2021 is out now about $100). But I think I found it easier to use having had Elements before. Just so much info out there from Adobe to You Tube.

I use Luminar. I like editing. But you can can tag photos. When you set rating in is part of Luminar catalog. It would be nice if tags and rating were imbedded into export JPGs. I use MS Photo Gallery for keeping track of my photo, even though it is no longer supported.

I've used several, but mostly LR. For general processing, it doesn't matter which program I use. What I usually do is adjust cropping, exposure, contrast, color, and sharpness. Even free programs can do that. Any new software is confusing at first, but there are tutorials and other resources available.

Luminar which is $69 WITHOUT an annual license. You can get a $10 discount if you order using a code shown on Jim Nix Luminar You Tube videos.

I use it but very little, sky replacements and such. I am a Lightroom Classic user and I don't think there is anything that organizes your catalogue and all the other things you're looking for like it. You may be able to just purchase it I don't know, I have the cc and pay monthly, this way it's always up to date and I get Photoshop it needed. Lightroom is not hard, Photoshop is another story, I don't use it a lot.

Sorry, I didn't know that, but it is the best for organization and they have much improved their editing module too to keep up with the competition.

Why don't you check out Faststone first since it is free. It you find you need something else then you can check out Elements or Luminar.
