Mt. Equinox, Vermont
Periodically visit the Charterhouse of the Transfiguration in Arlington, VT to teach. A rare privilege. Because I stay on the mountain during these three to four day swings I have access during times when it is closed to public (open between 9 and 5 from Memorial day or so to sometime in November depending on the snow/ice situation. Last car is allowed up at 4:30. The trip to the summit is 5.6 miles at a 12% grade with some terrifying hairpin turns, particularly on the way down. I generally do not drive up until no one else is on the mountain.
The skies last night were spectacular. Thunderstorms to the north had no effect on Equinox except for great clouds.
Using the 300 mm lens. Transfiguration is the only Carthusian house in North America. There are 15 houses for men and five for women in the world.

This is as close as the public gets about halfway up to the summit. The Carthusian life demands total separation from the world. However, as the order was founded in 1084 they are doing something right.

Little need be said about this sky.

There is a small museum explaining the Carthusian order. There are also four observation platforms. This was from the lower platform as the upper ones are only accessible when museum is open.

Camera on front seat as I was driving back to my quarters. Very cooperative subject.

Love #2! All great shots. Keep up the good work and stay healthy.
With your permission, I would like to use the 3rd picture of the sunset for our opening slide at our church services. It's beautiful.

Stunning set!
Thanks. Last evening was spectacular. I tried to get a shot of that deer last night. However, I had the ISO at 64 and 1/500 second. Zip. Glad to see him eating again this evening. Will be driving back the same time tomorrow. Will put the 300 mm lens on. I want that close-up.

Absolutely use it. The temp had dropped from 88 to 70 in minutes. I was freezing but not about to let the opportunity go.

Slipped that into the lecture I was giving the community. They liked it too.

Thanks. The setting is spectacular in almost any conditions. I've been snowed in there for three days. I keep praying that it happens again.

Thanks. Am healthy. BC is testing everyone coming onto campus. I had swabs on Wednesday at 2:30 PM. Results in my email (negative) at 3:15 AM. Very efficient system. Carrying a copy of the results in the car as VT requires either negative or quarantine for two weeks.

Gorgeous skies.
Thanks for commenting. The skies were gorgeous. To the north over Manchester the sky was almost black with a few rumbles of thunder. To the south clear and gorgeous.
