I would like to make you an offer. My son passed away five years ago and we set up a foundation in his honor (
www.BGMFoundation.org). We are planning to make a donation to his former high school of a Canon 650, a 5D Mark II, some batteries, film, tripod, lenses and flashes. I will offer a tax deductible certificate (of a reasonable amount of your choice). We will place a brass plaque on the camera designating you as the donor. While many people these days want cash, I will understand your refusal. I will not be offended.
Sincerely,

Can you post a few pictures of the camera if it has not been sold?
Thanks.

Dear Scruples,
We’re thinking about it. Our son, Joshua, passed away when he was 38 years old. He had been in the Air Force serving as a Navigator on the airplanes that flew from our airbase in Spain to Kuwait during that war.
Josh was one heck of a man. We’ll give your request some more thought. But a brass plaque would hardly be necessary.

I am deeply sorry that you lost your son Joshua.
Even if your decision is to sell the camera I won’t be offended. I would like you to seek out our son’s website foundation. At Compassionate Friends, our ideas help us and others to come to terms with the loss of Brian.
Please be well and don’t hesitate to call if you need to have support during this time.
Sincerely,
Steven Gewirtz

If you haven’t already sold the D50, I’m interested in purchasing it. Please PM me at wph-mw@sbcglobal.net. Thanks...
Hi cheez,
you stated: Please PM me at wph-mw@sbcglobal.net. Thanks...What does PM stand for please. Is that an email address?
It is still for sale. I would buy a new battery/charger for the camera from B&H. Will you pay for the postage? It would be bubble wrapped
and sent via UPS.

After further consideration, I’ve decided not to purchase the camera after all. I’m sure you will sell it eventually. Good luck!
I hope that you haven’t forgotten my offer. As for the plaque, I insist on it. The plaque is made by a friend at no charge. It is our way of acknowledging you as a donor and it also lets the students in the program appreciate you for your concern and caring.
I am prepared to offer a tax deductible certificate of $150 dollars. We are a registered 501[c][3] charity.
If the offer is not pleasing, I will not be offended. If you are offended by my offer please accept my apology.

Mr. Scruples,
Please lay off. We maintain a scholarship fund. I’d rather give my fine Nikon to a underprivileged young person
than donate it to your charity. Nor do we need any tax deduction. Bye Bye!
