Borrowed a Sony 90mm macro lens and shot these with my Sony a6000, handheld. Very novice! Critiques welcome. These are unedited SOOC. (Probably my first post of pix in UHH.)

Nice job for your first try at macro. I think #2 is your worst shot -- too centered and if you are going to shoot a single bloom, either isolate it or darken everything around it. The white in the background is distracting. #3 is nice but needs to "pop" a little more -- brighten it up in post. Keep working with macro, you will find a lot of enjoyment in getting close to your subjects.

You are off to a great start as a novice. I like all of them as is. Sharp and nice composition with excellent exposure. Great start! You are off and running!

Thanks! I hesitated to post before editing. I was pretty pleased with the SOOC.

Yes, I should have. I lugged one around! Getting the right height and angle and distance is still challenging, especially with an unfamiliar lens. I need more practice with everything!
