These were all shot with a Nikon D500 and a Nikon 500mm PF lens, which was probably not the best choice overall but I started walking around Mosquito Lake with only that camera and lens. Also, I was anticipating photographing whatever wildlife showed up and I failed to reset the auto-ISO but I was able to get the noise out enough to make the image work. The long lens was actually needed as the lily pads were fairly far from the shore for the most part. Ebbets Pass is one of the four passes that goes over the Sierra Nevada Mountain range and connects up with Hwy. 395 that runs north and south through CA.
I really like the first image. It's probably something I would never even think to do. Artistic and creative! Very cool!
