Some people like one version more than the other. Any comments?
#2 allows my mind to focus comfortably on the optical effect of the crystal ball [tho scientifically incorrect] our mind's-eye saying and knowing that buildings are always on top of the grass. Grass up and building inverted are, while scientifically correct, incongruous with the actual image seen in the background.
Neither: Horizon misalignment, very obvious in the tilted table.
Well, the orb seems crisp while the distant one is formidably out. Why not crop most of the big building and just use it as background. Don't think you can get both at the same time!

Perhaps this one is nearer to what you want to see.
Two--the first looks unnatural to me. Side note: I wish the building were also in focus.
I think it looks better and not so much of a
reach." More reasonable.
I prefer #2 minus the purple table cloth
Just amazing what a difference is made by just turning the ball up side down. I like them both.

# 2 is my pick and reminds me of the Antique's Roadshow on PBS networks from the U. K. Very cool looking.
Not fond of either. The horizon line is uncomfortably not level and there are large featureless (blown out) areas of the clouds. As for the optical effect of the ball, the first due to its accuracy.

This one is far better. This one features the effect of the ball rather than providing a large and visually confusing image. Here the effect of the ball is the subject of the photograph.

I agree with this comment. Setting up your shot in this manner would make a more powerful image, IMO. Get closer to the orb, to make it the dominate object in the image.

“Fraid” to say, neither. Composition, colour, & alignment struggle with each other which makes, at lease for me, a confusing photograph. Nice idea though...
Cheers!
