Just in time to catch a bit of the rainbow.
What do you think of the dark tree on the left and the open space on the right? What about the length?

I think your composition and inclusion give the rainbow snippet just what it needs to be appreciated, to make it real. Cropping in to just the rainbow world reduce the photo from “I really like that” to just “nice shot,” for me, anyway.
Is that a true rainbow or a sundog? I do like the tree as it puts the subject into an environmental context. I did try some cropping off the right and sort of liked what that did. My virtual crop was about the point that the cloud line starts going back upward. It didn't center the sundog at all.
Thanks very much for your comments.
Thanks for your reply.
If you'd like to include your cropped photo, I'd love to see it.
I never heard of sundog, and, according to the internet, it is a phenomenon on both sides of the sun. I think what I saw was the very end of a rainbow, as it was fading away.
Thanks for the thumbs up! Most appreciated.
