My wife found this in early March and trimmed off the dead parts look at it now. Looks like it belongs in the desert.

Nice shot - You have to keep an eye on that thing. It's in the prickly pear cactus family and it loves to grow and grow and grow. That's here in Deep South Texas where we only have two seasons hot and hotter.

Prickly pear (Opuntia) cactus are native in every one of the contiguous 48 states. I recall as a kid being amazed to find them in Connecticut, and later in Maine!

that looks familiar...i seem to recall seeing and dodging them in texas years ago!
