Because there's no time for FM?

Because there's no PM music - only AM and FM?

In the radio world, PM refers to Phase Modulation. Close to Frequency Modulation but the math is a bit different.

I've got this! Because in the PM, because of signals skipping off of the ionosphere, you can listen to distant AM stations that you can't possibly hear in the daytime. So there is a real reason to listen to AM in the PM

That is true in the last four hours of the PM, but also the first four hours of it.

And, AM means Amplitude Modulation as opposed to FM which is Frequency Modulation.

Don't know whether you didn't know this or whether you are just trying to have a bit of fun?

Back in the late ‘60s I did a lot of long distance driving along the east coast at night. I loved playing with the AM dial to see what I could pick up...it helped keep me awake😊

WOWO Ft Wayne IN,, Chicago, WBZ Boston and many more all came in in the Philly area at night. And also a station in "Del Rio" Texas which was really in Mexico with 100K Watts, twice as much as allowed by our FCC. It was right over the border

Because FM has become boring and less creative whereas AM radio is still beginner-level-inviting and it's usually more of a local broadcast (area-specific) populated phenom. Old habits die hard.

Interesting play on words AM relating to radio and PM relating to time.
