Too hot to sit outside so shot this through the dining room window with a Bridge camera

What a great shot, window, small sensor and all. I either get no wings or other blurry elements along with the wings, or complete stop action. You hit the sweet spot! A great example of imperfect conditions and still getting the shot. (We can't even attract bees to our hummingbird feeders this year, let alone actual hummingbirds.)

This one was taken out the window with the D7200. More ants and wasps at the hummingbird feeder than hummers.

Thanks, I am enjoying the Bridge cameras vs the D7200 and Sigma C. I pulled that out today and could hardly lift the beast. I agree on the bees this year at the hummer feeders. Same here

I'm going through my pics from years ago and culling (a lot) and ran into some shots from a Canon S1 IS and a Nikon P90. Both were mostly baseball games under good light and quite usable. We tend to overlook the one really great feature of the bridge camera... it's usually the one you grab for a quick shot because of reach and weight. Assuming conditions are good, you usually get the shot, even if not technically perfect for pixel peakers.

I just got the Sigma 150-600 C and you're right, it's a beast (and I think it's the lightest of that bunch, though). I'm pairing it with my D5500 and a monopod to see if I can make it a little more convenient for the old skinny dude. I use the 18-400 Tammy on the D7500 mounted on a monopod for my walkaround that gets the most use, but I need to have a smaller camera laying out for the shoot and run stuff.

Enjoy the Hummers!

I used to use the D7200 with a Nikkor 70-300 on a monopod but never really got the knack of using the monopod correctly. The D7200 with the Sigma C is too heavy for me to lug around now so when I go for walks with the pup I take a bridge camera. I have two. An older Nikon P-510 which is what I take for walks and a Lumix FZ-80 which I got last month. When I started in digital my first camera was a Minolta M1 then I got into DSLR's and now back to bridge. Its a vicious circle. I dont use the bridge cams for photos very often because the low shutter speeds they like they are not really good for wildlife. But for 1080p video they do well on video for me where DSLR's do not. I still like the D7200 and Sigma C for photography, the combo does a nice job. I guess its all what I am in the mood for on any given day. :)

I'm much the same after a buying spree after I retired a few years ago. I have more of the available N1's than not, I have a P610, an A900 that needs to be sent back under warranty before the warranty expires, a fair selection of DSLRs with my top of the line being the D7500. I still buy an accessory every now and then but I think I'm burned out on buying any cameras for a while. I'm working on the operator to see if I can't improve that part of the workflow. ("The twelve inches behind the camera" which I just read somewhere.) Looks like we'll both be occupied with our toys for some time to come. Have fun!
