Luminar 4

I am trying to use Luminar 4 as a plugin to Lightroom. When I am using Lightroom, the plugin successfully loads and makes the changes I want. I then push "apply" and the image reverts to Lightroom but the changes are gone. I must be doing something stupid but I can't figure it out. Thanx for any help you can offer.

Are you certain they're gone? A couple of suggestions:
1. Check LR sort order - LR may just be separating the original from the Luminar version due to the way it sorts.
2. If you're editing, say 123456.cr2, use Windows Explorer or Finder to search for 123456.TIF - maybe it's storing the file somewhere else.

Give it a chance--sometimes it takes a moment or two for the changes to show up. mine always come back as the original and then the changes pop in.

I had exactly the same issue. I contacted Luminar (Skylum) tech support. First thing they said was to use “Export “ instead of “Edit In “ to get the photo into from Lightroom into Luminar. This worked most of the time. The next thing they suggested was to reinstall the Luminar plug in component. I did that as well and also seemed to help. I eventually got it working consistently but it took a while.
In my case I think the problem was a problem in Windows 10 following one of their updates!

Try searching with Explorer and use the "*" wildcard (example: 123456*).
Its also possible that the finished file is being saved to the previously used folder/directory.

I've the same problem and I found this kludgy way: LR -> PS -> Luminar -> PS -> LR
It works like this:
- In LR you use external editor PS (Ctrl-E)
- While in PS you do nothing except use Luminar filter (Filter->Skylum Software->Luminar) which brings your file into Luminar.
- After editing in it Luminar you press 'Apply', the image returns to PS
- Exit from PS (Ctrl-Q) and the edited image returns to LR
