The SX60 makes nice images. This is hand held and I am somewhat shaky. I bought it used a couple of years back and have had no problems as of yet.

1. I bought an FX300, brief check, had an anomaly, but fool that I am, thought it was a one of, and instead of sending it back for a replacement, took it to China as a gift for a friend. OF COURSE it crapped out.

Brought it back to the US and sent it to Panasonic for repairs; return window of seller has closed. Took a couple of weeks. Got it back, works great. Back to China on next trip. Has been in use for a couple of years, no problems.

I believe the technician fully checked it out, like new. My only complaint of service was getting status. Nice phone operator could only check database for status: waiting for tech for a week, then next time I called it was being returned to me (thankfully repaired under warranty).

So I believe in Panasonic repair.

2. I managed to drop my several years old FZ1000 on FROZEN ground (Harbin Ice Festival), lens first. Would zoom to 300 OK, but past that, just a clunk. Figured I'd knocked a lens element out of socket. Past warranty. While there is a local repair shop that does excellent work, for peace of mind, I bought another FZ1000. Several hundred dollars less than when I first bought. I like the camera, knew it, and didn't find anything better for me.

Have no idea what the shutter count is on either FZ1000 or FZ300, but traveling for 2 months at a time, it's at least a 100 shots a day per camera for at least 2 years.

My point: if you like your camera, buy another one. Or if time not critical, try Panasonic repair. As I remember, I paid shipping there; they paid for return shipping.

I'm 79 years old, I keep the Tamron 150-600 G2 coupled to a D500 shooting wildlife. I can hand hold it for a short period but prefer to mount it on a monopod with a with a tilt and slide head. The 10fps is a must shooting wildlife, at least for me.

It has the same sensor as the Lumix FZ80. The FZ 80 has focal lengths of 20mm to 1200mm. Twice as much zoom and wider wide angle. It doesn't have a constant f2.8 but that's the only downside. It costs $100 less than the FZ300.
