Those bruises are very common in potatoes. You didn't have to cut down the entire potato. Just cut away the bruised areas.

What's this latest trend with those little potatoes that people leave the skin on? It's said that all of the vitamins are in the potato's skin therefore many people eat those potatoes with the skin on. I can't stand that. I will take each one and peel the skin off.

The skin is very thin and provides taste.

I have read that green potato skins contain a toxin solanine that can be dangerous.

How about potato salad made with the skin on? That's something different. I don't mind the skin, and I eat it if it's there.

Actually, this problem isn't just a British one. I usually have to discard 1/4 of a 5-lb bag of potatoes due to this kind of quality issue. I think we consumers are getting the leavings after the potato chip and convenience dinner producers, and restaurant trade, get the best of the crop.

Didn’t find any worms,the whole bag was the same ,had to buy new bag from another store,their fine.next time I’m in the other store I will tell them.
