It seems there is a tendency for over the counter drugs to make the print on their bottles smaller and smaller! Half the pills you get off the shelf can't be read even with +3 reading glasses! One solution I have come up with is to shoot the label with my i-phone and then enlarge the photo using my fingers to expand the shot. By having my phone with me while shopping, it has saved me some exasperation on several occasions. Maybe they make the print so small because they don't want people to know their meds come from China!
I use a magnifying glass.

Or the lawyers require so much CYA information that is the only way they can fit it all on. What do you do about the ones you have to peel part way off and read what is underneath?
OR, they have to get so much information in such a small label area.

Notice how once peeled, it never stays down anymore?

Gee! There is a man or woman over there in a bright white jacket who is working very hard. They have a phone in their ear, glasses on, and are reading or writing something. They also go by another name. They are a pharmacist. When you look at him or her it might be me. I am a pharmacist.
This is by true occupation. (I’m a hobbyist photographer in my spare time.). I have grayish hair and I’m kinda old is looking. Even my mustache is gray too. I have two college degrees and have been doing this job for almost 30 years.
Now when you come in to the pharmacy you already have questions about everything. What is is the shaving cream in? Where can I find the blood sugar machines? Etcetera and so forth. You can take a few minutes and stop by the pharmacy counter. Ask me what I would recommend for that sniffle or that itch. I don’t mind taking my time. I can answer all of your questions if you don’t mind answering a few of mine I would rather do this than have you wander the aisles with a puzzled look on your face. I have stopped a patient or two with that look. When I gave asked them if I could help, they say no and move on. I really don’t mind as this is part of my job as a pharmacist. By the way, please don’t feel embarrassed to ask of my time. I’m never too busy to help.
With that being written, I’m not trying to be snarky! I just like to share my experience with you. Just like I am here on the Ugly Hedge Hog. I have questions too. I would like them answered by someone who is knowledgeable.
Happy Shooting!

I wish your store was in my area -- I would be happy to be your customer! To note -- all the pharmacies do a good job of labeling their pill bottles and most do a good job of explaining special circumstances like the need to take some pills only with food on your stomach. The off the counter pills are the problem and a lot of them are not purchased in pharmacies.
Confused, are we done with the OTC discussion and now on Rx drugs?
You can bring in your off the counter medications and ask all your questions of the nearest pharmacist. We are all trained to answer questions regardless of them being purchased inside the store or not.
I think the original question was why do they make the print so small on the OTC medication packages,
with one solution to circumvent the problem.

medications, food packets, gas accounts, electricity accounts, water rates, Council rates
ALL require spectacles AND a magnifying glass. ggggggggggrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Yes! And it's not only on drug bottles. I think the problem is that they have to include so much information in a small space.
What annoys me is the difficulty I have finding the "Usage" directions.

I also use my phone camera to "read" prices and instructions on shelves both high and low and also as a portable "memory" device.

It is to make room for all the warnings..
Also, everything is printed in 20 languages.
All this is more important than the dosage information.
