Yesterday hit 90 degrees F, so our Wednesday Wander was to a local county park about 15 minutes from our house. We gain about 1000 feet in elevation from out house to the trail head and the hike gains another 430 feet to about 6150 feet. Early enough the trees and mountains shade the trail up and back. When we returned the car showed 63 degrees F and at our house it was 75.
The country park is the Yellow Fork Canyon park and our hike was parallel to Rose Creek.
Spring has passed so there were only a few wildflowers left at this low an elevation. The path is a rutted dirt maintenance road that is a popular snowshoe trail in the winter.
Now hikers and horse back riders use it. When we started (as you will see) only a few horse trailers had arrived but by the time we returned there were 10+ trailers in the lot.
Nice shots of a horse trail 🤗🤗👍👍
Nice shots. It looks hot.
Nice photos, Mike. Looks like a nice time.
90 degrees F??? I'd pay for weather like that.

I appreciate the visit, Bob, but we mountain people think 90 is hot.

Thanks, Chief, we are waiting for you.
Nice shots Mike!
We could use a little of that heat here. Below 60, and windy every day.

Thanks, Victor, I am sure it is only a matter of time. We also have the wind, which for us now is a blessing.
Beautiful - oh to properly be outside again!

Thanks, Sylvia, not spectacular but a cooler place of great interest to the dogs.
