Clearing out the Library in LR. Anyone know what these are and why I shouldn’t delete them. There are several dozen more similar images.
I'll guess they are images LR uses for the user interface.
I once had a misguided session where I imported all the images from my phone. There where lots of similar things that ended up in my Lightroom catalog. All were Jpegs used by something in the phone.
One looks like a plus sign and the other a gear with down arrow.
The others are just spares :)

Did you find these where you store your other images? Or did you find them in another location?

They’re in with all the other images, but are pretty much grouped together. There’s another group that are flags of most of the nations in the world. Those will come in handy someday.

My best guess is that those files can be deleted with no problem.
One more question. Are they in the Lightroom catalog?
If they are in the catalog, then they can certainly be deleted using LR.
If they are not in the catalog, you can use your computer OS to delete them. If you want to be extra cautious, you can make a temporary directory at another location, call it TEMP_PICS and move them into it. After a couple times using LR and no problems you can simply delete TEMP_PICS.

Thanks. They don’t really interfere with anything I’m doing in LR. Think I’ll wait until the next time I call Adobe support, just to be sure.
Perhaps you accidentally downloaded them from the internet.

I don’t think so. But anything is possible I guess. We’ll see what Adobe has to say. Thanks for you interest.

Sounds like icons from a software program. don't delete them but remove them from the catalog. I have had them come up from going into a folder with software and photos in it and lightroom will locate the icons and install them along with other photos.
They are icons used by software and they must have come from a device that you downloaded from, probably because of a "Select All" command or some such, or using the whole device as a source instead of navigating to exactly the right source file.

Yes, I've gotten similar gif or other graphics into Windows and Photoshop from my smartphones too. Just junk basically. Seen logo and such as tiny files attached to emails as well.

Thanks. No it’s safe to delete them from LR?

Thanks. So have you deleted them?
