Canon G-III QL17 for sale. Like New.
I have two of these. Had them since 1990.
Both cameras are identical in condition. One says Japan and other says Taiwan. Both are the same.
The price is honorable and fare.
Ok Hoggers and Hoggettes; You film guys and gals, this is your lucky day. I am selling off my two babies, Canon G-III QL17's. They are honestly like new and very low film mileage.
Both Freshly CLA'd at Garland Camera, Garland Texas.
They were good to go already but still to assure any potential buyer, I had them serviced anyway. I do not have a light system to show you the very clean details..so I did the best I could shooting these pictures outside.
To those of you who know this model you know the details. These are considered the 'poor mans Leica' because of the very sharp and quality lens.
At my age my poor tired eyes just cannot focus good enough through the view finders to capture what I want to present.
These are damn good image cameras. Just Goggle the comparisons to the Leica’s.
The light meter was adjusted and tested for the 1.5V alkaline batteries used today. Part of the CLA process.
New light seals installed as part of the CLA process.
Film tested both with ASA 200, 400, and 800.
New battery.
NO flaws in the lens and view finder, like NEW.
240.00 each and this is a fair and honest price, they easily sell for more.

You might want to check on eBay and others used equipment for sale.
Where have you seen them selling for over $240? Just curious as my online sources for collectible prices in Mint condition are well below that price point.

I did check ebay, I posted on ebay, got scammers. Also I saw where the same camera sold for over 350. bucks and was not as verifiable as mine. I will be expecting low ballers of course. I posted on Craigs list too and got scammers. Ah yes, the used equipment. Well sir allow me to briefly explain my findings on this.
You damn sure can find these cameras a lot cheaper BUT Wait ? there is more ! Reading the reviews and comments on these 'cheaper' buys. Yea baby. Read the comments. The camera came broke or soon broke. The camera was NEVER CLA'd and if it was stated, it was bullshit.
So the buyer wrote that it cost him MORE to have it fixed after the 'cheaper' deal. In some reviews the buyer paid as much as I am asking for mine.
I paid 142. bucks for each of mine to CLD'd by a the best camera service center in the DFW area. And let me tell you this. There are many camera service places here but for film cameras, this is the BEST.
Yea baby, ya get get what what ya pay for.
I have checked in with other outlets but wanted to post here for the 'family' before going public.
Yea it's a nitch market now but the camera guy at the the store told me not to go below 240. He saw my cameras. He said there is a young generation who love these and the condition of mine will be welcomed.
Anyway, it is what it is and thank you for the reply. I think I will have to copy and paste to others who popped in on this post.
Thank you again and yes, I love your posts and photos you share.

How long have you been doing business at GCR? Did you know Jim? He was my cousin and I worked for him when he opened his first store in 1963.

I have never heard of GCR. Honestly I have never sold a camera before. I bought these Canons from reliable camera shops who tested them out good. I had recently just bought my first SLR, a Nikon N80 with a couple of lenses. A good friend who was a Pro photographer told us in a conference that we should get this G-III Canon because of the sharp lens and build quality. I did and liked it so much I got another one.
Who is GCR ? maybe I can connect with them. These need a good loving home.
Thank you for the reply.

Neighbor;
I got real wordy on my reply which was meant to another person. I goofed up. Please please accept my apology if I offended you. Not my intention at all. I know you were tying to help me and I appreciate that. I got a really bad experience from ebay and Craigs list. I need all the help I can get. I have never sold a camera before.
Please accept my apology.

Oh yea ???????? Duhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I am a dumbass for sure. I should have figured that out huh ? I have been there 4 times and do not know any names. I have some film in the Canons that I am going finish up and take them there and I will ask about him. This is a very good shop. The other camera repair shops in the Dallas area send you there if you have a film camera. They have great reputation and saw that. They knocked out my film order in a touch over an hour. It is a 85 mile round trip drive for me but well worth it.
People drive over 150 miles just have them process their film and service cameras. Thank you the slap, I needed it.
Thank you bro.

You are welcome. Not a dumb ass at all. Sometimes our minds register how we have known of a place for years but not the initials of the place. Very common. I think to put it accurately you are a human being. We all go through that for around 60-80 years or so. Then it gets worse.
Good luck on selling the cameras.
