Spotted this fellow from my back deck. Ran inside and grabbed my camera and put the longest lens I had on it. Not quite enough reach, but I did manage these few.

Last one wins.
A Pilated Woodpecker.
Photogenic bird.
Distinctive.
Md. and Va. Sides of the Potomac River at or near Great Falls is a good area for sightings.

Thank you, Bill.
I'm not anywhere near the Potomac, he must've been passing through. Over the years, I've seen them occasionally for a couple days and then they're off.
Oh lucky you, Tom! I've seen a Pileated WP only one time in our yard years ago, but what an impressive sight! Beautiful shots of this gorgeous woody, and I love the silhouette!

A FYI
Pilated Woodpeckers feed heavily on Carpenter Ants.
They will revisit infested dead, lying on ground, logs as long as they are productive.
Find infested logs by the woodpecker chipping it to bits as it feeds.
Look in older woods or neighborhood parks. Find a place a bit off, sit and watch a while.
They nest rather high in mature trees. Pine woods are always a good bet.

Thank you, Donna, glad you liked him. He certainly was a big boy. The last time I remember seeing a Woodpecker was in 2013 in the winter. At least they hung around long enough to get a shot. I found the 2013 WP and I'll attach him.

Love that last shot!
The silhouette? Yeah, that was a gift from Mr. Woody. He went and moved to the sunny side of the tree and that's all I could get. I like it, though too.

Love them, Tom! I hear them often in the surrounding woods.
