A post sunset shot of some decades old erosion control just north of Ludington, Mi.

C&C welcome, especially what you might try differently.

This is a really nice composition. You have a strong diagonal leading the viewer into the photo. Well done. I did notice some banding in the sky. This could be a result of a bit too much sharpening in post. Other than that, I think this one is a winner.

Thanks Erich, for looking and commenting.
I’m pretty sure the banding comes from my clumsy and overly aggressive de-res attempt.

Yes, I see the same artifacts in the water. What do you mean by de-res?

I love the composition and the colors. An engaging contrast between stark pier and soft colors of sky and water. I like that the distant shoreline appears to be shrouded in mist.

I tried to lower the resolution for web posting and I think I over did it. As is, the photo is to large a file for UHH to accept.
The hard edges of the pier and the soft colors and lines of the water and sky are what I was after on the shot.
the distant shore is actually clouds.
Thanks for your time and input, much appreciated.

Hopefully this is better.

Very much improved.

For web, try a simple re-size and change the width to 1500 pixels or 2500 if you want a little more pixel peeping available Set the "constrain proportions" so your height will change accordingly.

Here's a topic I just found and have only quickly read through:
https://www.shutterstock.com/blog/resize-images-for-web

I've never had to change quality. Simply slashing the pixel number does the trick

Thanks Linda, I will try that way next post.
Haven’t perused the link yet but I will.
Thanks again.

At first I thought it was too blue, but after downloading and reducing the blue I disagreed with myself. 🥴
Excellent picture with great composition. Like the smooth water and this old pier with, I'm sure, a lot of hidden stories.👏

I don’t know how much of the color is real or memorex but I am back for another look tonight.
