I took an evening stroll around a local county park/nature area this week. There was not much going on till I spotted this little lady laying her eggs. She was right in the open, along the drive. We had rain that morning so the ground was wet and soft. She was digging with her rear legs and moving slowly.
Using the camera at hand, Samsung cell phone I got her picture.
A day later I found another one digging in on the side of a gravel road.
I would think the chances of any of their eggs surviving are slim to nothing. Sad.
