Having "grown up" riding the NY Subways, back in the day, I'd say that passes for as pleasant demeanor as anyone could or should muster on a Subway, or any other Public Space or conveyance in NYC. This is a good portrait reflecting the public persona of this lady.
Well executed photo, in some of the ugliest light in the world, especially if taken underground.
