I just purchased a new Nikon 7500 camera and some of the features may be confusing. I would love a feature Why and how to use it properly. The manual that comes with the camera really does not express how to use it on the best features. I am familiar with most of the concepts but some features are confusing.

I would love to have a generic answer and explanation "how To" The new camera's have features that need explaining. Could this be a good

Read the manual, if he has one for your camera, try a Steve Perry video. Try going back to the store where you bought the camera. A sales person could help you or the store may have a class for new photo people.

Take a look at David Busch. He does books on specific cameras and they are very good.

Google Ken Rockwell. Not everything he writes is to be totally believed, but his camera reviews and instructions are very helpful.

Creative Live has a "fast start" camera guide for the D7500 taught by John Greengo. It is currently on sale for $19. The name of the classes are misleading; there are 26 lessons on the functions of the camera and PDF information you can print out for reference. He is an excellent educator and when you finish you will know what your camera is all about.

I have this guide for my Fujifilm XT-2 and go back to it often if my memory fails me.

Anthony, post images here and ask questions. A great way to learn.
Welcome aboard.

Here ya go...

https://www.amazon.com/s?k=nikon+D7500&i=stripbooks&ref=nb_sb_noss_2

There are a number of guide books specific to the D7500, which you might find useful. Whenever I get a new camera, I always buy a guide book for it. Even though I've been doing photography and using SLRs and DSLRs for 40 years, a guide book really helps shorten my "learning curve"! A good guide book expands upon the user manual and gives you real life examples. Looking at what's available at the above link, I recognize two authors.... David Busch and Doug Klostermann. Over the years, I've bought books by both of them and found them helpful. There may be some other good books about D7500... I just don't know the authors. So check the buyer feedback there on Amazon.

While you're spending money over at Amazon, I also HIGHLY recommend Bryan Peterson's "Understanding Exposure". It's more of an overview about how cameras work, with lots of real life examples and suggestions. It's one of the best books for someone trying to step up from being a "snap shooter" to using a more advanced camera to become a "real photographer"

https://www.amazon.com/Understanding-Exposure-Fourth-Photographs-Camera/dp/1607748509/ref=sr_1_1?crid=C1EBGZ8ZLXJP&dchild=1&keywords=understanding+exposure&qid=1592161937&s=books&sprefix=understan%2Cstripbooks%2C234&sr=1-1l

EDIT: Okay, I lied. I don't always buy a guide book... Although I try to. I recently got a Canon M5 mirrorless camera and am very surprised to find there is no guide book in English for it! I found German and Japanese guides... but no English! What the heck! Ach du lieber! That's all the German I can remember. I know even less Japanese!

Welcome aboard, Anthony. And, Yes, compared to the way film cameras used to be, today's little wonders can be complex as hell. You probably need a good guide book, that's true. But what you also need is time and patience. Too many folks today (in our convenience-store society) "want it now", whatever "it" is. Instant knowledge, instant skills, instant results.
My suggestion; get a book (there are many), read about ONE feature of the camera, try it out taking pictures until you know it well, then go on to another feature. My Nikons, like yours, have a ton of buttons and menus so naturally this will take time. But if you see it through it will pay your dividends.

Here are over 100 videos describing various aspects on how to use and get the most out of the Nikon D7500. You may now begin to Binge Watch all of these. After your done, you may come back here with more questions, but who knows, you may become the local expert on the D7500.

The books that come with cameras are often too terse unless you live and breath photography. They are poor tutorials. Depending on the camera, and I have not looked for the 7500, there may be a book written specifically for that model. In addition youtube will likely have many tutorials from basic to more complicated. Good luck.

Yes - John Greengo is the best there is. And you can find the video's on sale from time to time. You can't go wrong with John.
