Our local El Dorado Nature Center in Long Beach CA, hosted an impromptu "Spider Outing" within the Center grounds, for Center personnel and local entomological photographers. I am top row, third from left.
Here are the usual, and a few unusual spiders found this day.

Female Black & Yellow Orb Weaver (Argiope aurantia) spider on stabilimentum

Colonial Orb Weaver (Metepeira spinipes) & retreat
Backlighted female Hentzs Orbweaver (Neoscona crucifera) on twisted barbed wire
Female Green Lynx spider (Peucetia viridans) guarding her egg sac
Male Hentz's Orb Weaver (Neoscona crucifera)
Possibly an immature Jumping spider (Phidippus californicus) approx 4-mm long
Female Western Spotted Orb Weaver (Neoscona oaxacensis)
Nice! If I'm ever down there, I gotta check out the El Dorado Nature Center.
