I return my cart and return those I see around that may roll and damage others cars. Not returning carts is a pet peeve.

As a handicapped senior citizen I am guilty of not returning my cart most times. When paring in a handicapped space I leave my cart there for the next handicapped individual. On the off chance I park in a regular space I will always return the cart.
That being said, my pet peeve is all those non handicapped people that take a handicapped space because it is closer to the store entrance.

In my first job - ~55 years ago - I was a grocery clerk at a First National supermarket. In those days people were expected to return carts to the store; there were no carriage corrals. Oddly enough 99% did return their carts. I don't remember ever have to chase them down in the parking lot.

How do you know they are not handicapped?
Also if you can return the cart if NOT in a handicapped space what makes it different in your handicap if you are in a handicapped space?

People were more polite then.

My pet peeve concerning handicapped parking is seeing someone who has a handicapped placard is as capable or even more so than me parking in a handicapped spot. I am 72 and still have no need for a placard and hopefully not anytime soon...they are there for those that really truly need them...

Because no handicapped placard hanging from their rear-view mirror? It's really pretty simple. I learned to notice things like that very quickly while I was using a handicapped placard for three months after a ski accident put me into a wheelchair. Able-bodied people that park in handicapped spaces are barbarians!
