Thanks....these were taken with the Tamron 150-600 at 350 to 600 hand held - we were pretty close and actually too close to one when we come around the corner...bam...there he was...we had to scramble up the hill a little bit.

Please explain "natural goat lick." Is there salt in those rocks, or some other beneficial mineral? I find this fascinating. Good images.

Thanks and yes there is salt in the rocks and probably other minerals that the goats want all over the cliff's and rocks. They come to the cliffs in the spring thru beginning of fall and just lick the rocks to get the salt. I was lucky to catch them out...sometimes you can see up to 20 all along the cliffs and sometimes none!
