Pixma Pro-100 paper loading issue

I have been using my Pro-100 for some years, but after a layoff of about two months it gives me the "no paper" advisory. I have tried several things: reloading paper (of course), switching to the manual feed (using 11x14 paper and getting same advisory), and re-trying several times, making sure to respond to each "block" of instructions provided. Still getting the dreaded two yellow flashes and no printing. Anybody have any ideas? Sounds like perhaps a bit of paper or dust on a sensor somewhere, but unsure where to begin. Any ideas would be appreciated greatly! Bill

One thing you can try is to press down on that lid that is there for changing ink. Just press down or put a book on it. I say this because I had the previous model of printer, the Pro-9000 and it developed a problem with a sensor in the lid that caused it to give an error message and then wouldn't print. I put a book on it and it worked fine. I could never figure out the reason why or where that sensor is/was. I gave that printer away and got a Pro-100.

Try a single sheet and push gently when feed starts.

This thing must be hexed! I was running 11x14 and 11x17 with no success, then ran an 8.5x11 through with no problem. Then the other sizes worked with no trouble. Thanx for the responses, JR and Jeep, anyway. Funny thing: at the same time my printer "self-corrected" my refrigerator's ice maker, which had not been working for some time and for which no replacement part is available, suddenly started working normally. Go figure! Maybe I won't need a new hip after all!

Try using the maintenance features of the printer. There is an option to clean the paper feed rollers.

When that happens to me, I eventually realize that I haven’t flipped the flap on top toward the paper holder. Fortunately, there’s no one around to laugh at me!

I have some papers that the printer expects to be run from the back, not the top paper feed. Never could figure out why. But you might see if it will work feeding from the back.

I've done this once or twice & would of been my recommendation hadn't been solved.

for some reason the printer isn't programmed for 11x14. try 8x10 and see what happens.

Are you using the right paper path, there's one top center and another towards the back. Check in your printer dialogue to see which one it's trying to use. Only one can be open while printing,
