I've been living in Philadelphia for over three decades and I can't recall any camera store here which has a name that begins with "F". Perhaps the store is located in the suburbs?

I've used Webb Cam on 12th street in Philly

I draw a blank on the “F,” but I’d give six stars to Camera Shop on Lancaster Avenue in Bryn Mawr.

That was Fotorama, that was owned by my friend Joel Bender. Both he and the store are long gone. The store was on South 15t Strteet, just below Sansom.

IMHO, the ABSOLUTE BEST store in the Philla area is Allen's Camera in Levittown PA. Been buying from them for over 20 years. Allen, the founder has passed, but his son Brendan, along with his wonderful staff, keep the place buzzing. It is a PRO favorite! 215-547-2841. Just picked up my D6 last week. Best of luck.

I am not familiar with Allen's, but Larmon in Jenkintown is very good, as is NY Camera in Feasterville. I am not a fan of Cardinal Camera in Lansdale.

I have bought and received counsel from The Camera Shop in Bryn Mawr and highly recommend them. I don't know if they are open in these plague times.

Sorry to hear that Allen has passed. I agree that they are the best: good advice on the phone, prices equal to or better than B&H.

I’ll never forget my first visit to the store. It’s a schlep from where I live, but I’d heard such good things about it I decided to make the 1.25-hour drive and talked my wife into going along to keep me company. When I pulled up to the very modest storefront, my wife suggested I was an idiot and that she would wait in the car. The storefront didn’t hold out much promise.
I walked to the door, thinking she was right, opened it, and nearly did a flip over what I saw. Opening that door was like Alice falling down the rabbit hole and finding herself in Wonderland. It’s an amazing place. I’m not going to say any more. If you’re in the SE Pennsylvania area, check out Allen’s.
