Three days of rain, it finally stopped and I grabbed the camera and headed out to the woods. The colors are so brilliant after a fresh rain and before the sun is fully exposed.
I had a Tamron 18-400 lens on the camera.
It is somewhat out of it's element in these forest conditions, too dark. It's a great lens for open country landscapes. I had a lot of great shots that turned out too fuzzy from failure to focus.
Mostly leaves and flowers, the color caught my eye. It is so nice to be outdoors after seemingly weeks of stay home, stay indoors. Even if I was totally alone in the woods.
And nice to get the camera outside and refresh my skills.
You fooled me; you already took the photos I had in mind when I commented in your Landscape thread 😀
Lovely series, very enjoyable. I can feel a sense of the place and the weather.

Love the location. I live in the city and seldom get outside the burbs after a rain - my favorite weather - so I put a small forest in my backyard, but I am missing decent undergrowth and the stream.
You are so right about the colors. Good job.

Prairie Moon nursery can help you get the under story plants going at home, like the Yellow violet and Wild geranium in your excellent photos.

You might be right now, but for 15 years NOTHING grew under the trees. I put four major trees in a 30x70' back yard. Now after 25 years they are thinning each other out, but the roots are dense. I put a raised flower bed in the one sunny spot, but had to do it bag by bag because the local nursery would not deliver dirt into my carport. When I passed 75 I give up and settled for weekend trips.

Just like being in the jungle after a fresh rain has fallen heavily....wonderful.
The ambiance is clearly visible. Something I have difficulty with. I like them all very much. Great work!
