The landscape in southern Minnesota is not the broad vista's of the west. These were taken yesterday at Myre-Big Island State park in Albert Lea. It has been raining for a couple of days making the roads and trails a mucky mess. I had a plan to go out again today but the weather is worse, guess I'll stay home.
A little break in the rain and the clouds were just a little lighter turning the greens into an intense color spectacle. I had left my real camera home because of the rain so I ended up using my cellphone and my 15 year old Canon A580 point and shoot. They did OK. The first two are cellphone, Note 10+, the remainder with the Canon.
"Intense color spectacle" is a great description of your first two. For me, they are successful attractive landscape photos. Though the definition of "intimate landscapes" varies - even among the pros
- I would find more interest in other close shots, given the conditions you encountered. Different compositions that don't include the gray sky, such as reflections in the pond or water dripping from leaves.
It can be a fun challenge to work with the weather, seeing different stories that might go overlooked on sunny, fluffy white cloud days.
btw, your Grace is one gorgeous, photogenic kitty!

Linda, Grace says thank you.
All the pictures are processed the same in Photoshop. Sharpen at 50%, Clarity at 20%. The difference in color is purely the result of the camera technology.
The challenge was the camera's. I am not used to either in the application I used them. I would have better served with a real camera.
The lighting was near perfect to bring out the intensity of the greens, if the older camera could have captured it. I probably could modify the colors in post, but elected not to.
The green in the first two is almost overwhelming, but probably very true to life.
Great photos! You proved that rainy-day photography is worthwhile. I liked the first 2 intense green best. I agree with the suggestion that you go out again in the rain & capture some of the raindrops hanging on twigs & leaves.
