They told me that this deer feeder was raccoon proof.

I don't think so....

840mm lens. (Minolta 600mm + 1.4X TC) I darkened the edges deliberately.

They forgot to tell the raccoon, lol

Thanks. I'm going to try smearing axial grease on the white pole that they must shinny up. Maybe that will stop them?

I made a raccoon proof deer feeder using a fence hot wire charger, it’s 100% guaranteed unless you forget to replace your batteries! Then this is what happens!
Full moon showing through trees in background

Fun shot. I've had some limited success keeping them out of my garden with ammonia.

LOL! I just placed an order on Amazon for this:
https://www.amazon.com/Valvoline-SynPower-Synthetic-Automotive-Grease/dp/B000GAN3I0/ref=sr_1_5?dchild=1&keywords=silicone+based+axle+grease&qid=1590153093&sr=8-5
I think if I smear this on the white pole they will have a hard time shinnying up that pole. It was comic watching him climb that pole through my view finder.

Yeah, I purchased a squirrel, raccoon and bear proof feeder.
So far, raccoons, squirrels and even bears have climbed up the thing!

I found a squirrel baffle attached up high is the best overall solution.

My buddy has a feeder identical to this one, I’ve got a photo somewhere of a raccoon sitting on top the snout, just feeding his heart out. Coon proof, lol.
