This was taken out my living room window yesterday, using a Minolta 600mm lens plus a 1.4X TC.

They have such amazing eyesight and are so wary, very hard to get a shot of/at. I think he knows you’re there. What shutter speed did you use?

Very nice capture but they are so destructive. Put the cross hairs about two inches below his eye.

1/50 seconds at f/5.6 ISO=200. Ground hogs tend to freeze while they study you.

I also do that, but behind the eye, between the ear and eye. I use a PS90 with a good holographic scope.

Yes, and a cable shutter release.

Very sharp - both the groundhog and your set ups.

Thanks. I'm about to post a photo of a raccoon I took yesterday. It will be on a new thread.

I prefer to shoot ground hogs with my Remington. These beasts are very destructive.

I won't shoot the one in my backyard. He eats grass everyday. I wish he ate more so I wouldn't have to mow.

Mike,
Eating grass is one thing, undermining a yard barn, sun room or the like is another.
