This wedding is of my one and only destination wedding in Idaho. The wedding of Anna and Victor. Anna is a dear friend from high school and her twin brother is one of my oldest and best friends.
Anna called me out of the blue from her home in Italy where she teaches English and asked me if I would come up to Idaho in a few months and shoot her wedding to Victor, a country boy from Wyoming. This was the first time either of them would be married and at the time Anna was 55. I was offered an all expenses paid + stipend to come up to the Diomond D Ranch in the Saw Tooth mountains of Idaho...let's just say it's way out there and about a 5 hour drive from Boise. I couldn't pass an opportunity like that up and of course said YES! The attached are from Victor and Anna's wedding.
P.S. This is a prime example of going into a wedding blind. I had no idea what I was getting into when I arrived. Even the drive in was a bit harry as it was a 22 mile long one lane windy dirt road that dropped off precariously as it switchbacked up one side of a mountain and down the other. The little chapel had no electricity thus no lighting. I got lucky and found one stone in the back of the chapel that stuck out just enough for me to place one remote triggered speed light. The chapel was so small that when I took the photo of the bride and groom in the chapel I was standing outside looking in.
The one plus though is I know how to ride a horse since I had one growing up.
