That’s a Shorts Skyvan. A.K.A. a” Winnebago” and sometimes referred to as “not an airplane, but the box one came in”. For the aviation enthusiasts in the group something like 15% of the aircraft’s lift is generated by the fuselage.

FYI, This is a CASA (C-212 ? ), a great skydiving aircraft. The Short Skyvan is a much boxier airplane and a much different tail configuration. Jumped the CASA number of times, the Skyvan a couple.

I just finished reading about Unalakleet. Your town looks pretty small.

I don't think I'd ever seen so many planes in one place as I did when we were in Anchorage, AK.

This is a Cessna Caravan. They haven’t had an enviable safety record up here. Several have crashed, most of them due to icing on the wings. They are a workhorse, though.

Correct. Not a Cessna Caravan or a Shorts . All of those are used in Alaska as well as vintage Beavers, Otters, and Twin Otters. There are even a few DC3 winging around.
