I wasn't sure that we here in KY even have ravens, just really big crows, but I did some research and we do! Very uncommon to see them, but our woods and cliffs along some rivers are apparently a good habitat.

Great description of the hiking trails, but not one mention of a raven, lol. I guess they were more plentiful 200 years ago.

Best I can do these days is feed a peanut butter cracker to the family of crows that frequent the parking lot of the pizza place I get take-out.

Ravens used this nest two years ago and now, another nest-full of babies is being tended. This time, I see four babies, all at different stages, peeking out to be fed. These photos are not good because of distance and more importantly, the tree has begun to leaf out in earnest. Still, these are the only points of interest in our local wildlife area that is quickly on its way to becoming desert. So while the photos aren't great, baby ravens are a treat to see. These ugly ducklings grow up to be such beautiful birds.
