I rarely use any other section in UHH, but having to follow the 'Register Now' instruction, and being led up a blind-alley, is becoming a bit of a bore.. Anybody know of a reason for this Faux RE-REGISTERING.?

You should be using "Login" at the top of the page and not "Register". That's assuming you're getting to the Login page in the first place. If you're using a shortcut in your browser to access UHH, check to make sure it's pointing to the Login page - which should look like this:-

It sounds like you're clicking reply to a topic when you're not logged in. Note the last sentence in the message I received when I clicked "reply" when not logged in.

You can stay logged in forever even when you close the browser so it is ready to use the next time.

Yup! If I don't stay logged in I can't log in later because I forget my password.

I never remember passwords. I write them on a spreadsheet so I can find them when I need them.
And remember that whenever you delete your cookies you will have to log into all the sites you had previously logged into with "remember me".
