Wind up to 40mph today, not much fun to shoot outdoors.
This is a 17 shot stacked, shot in my soft box using purple tissue paper for the BG.
the grunge effect is from a Topaz effect that I kinda of liked.
Hope you enjoy the download and Thanks for Looking!!!!

I like the photo but have never done any stacking. Could you not have simply used f16 and gotten enough depth of field for the same photo? Were you using a macro lens and it already had a very shallow depth of field due to the minimum working distance?

Thanks Dennis, Dennis Yes and No, the #1 problem with modern newer lenses is they loose sharpness after about f/8, if you using a older lens you can get away with it, the next problem with shooting @ f/16 is being able to see because it's so dark you can't see where the focusing is.
This one was shot with a Sony 85mm 1.8 @ f.8 and a 10mm extension tube in manual focus mode.
If your thinking about doing this, a micro focusing slider is almost a must, but don't go cheap, the last thing
you need to happen is it to fall apart and your camera and lens go crashing to the ground.
tripod mount and use a remote shutter or the timer on your camera, if you have IS turn it off.
Hope this helps, if you have any question Please Ask.

Thanks for the comments. They are much appreciated. No I have no plans to ever get into stacking. I do macro photography with my Nikon D800 and the Nikon 105 f2.8 lens and go out to f16 for bugs and flowers. I also have a set of Kenko extension tubes I have never used as well as a Nikon bellows, Model III, I have never used yet. That is about the extent of my wanting to go more into macro.
I can understand now since you told me you used an extension tube.
Thanks again,
Dennis
Super beautiful, Johnny, and I love your choice of background!!!!!
